Uitsig Animal Rescue Centre is situated in Melkbosstrand approximately 40 klm from Cape Town CBD, off the R27 in the Western Cape.
The Centre is situated on approximately 12 hectares of the Thandanani Farm, in Kleine Zoute River, that was purchased in February 2015 by Vendivax (Pty) Limited to ensure that the animals would always have a safe haven.
Denay Saunders, the founder member has been in residence since 2007 and although there have always been rescue animals on the farm, the Uitsig Animal Rescue Centre was only registered as an NPO in September 2011, NPO “090-162”
The former idea of boarding kennels grew into the Animal Rescue Centre, as it was recognized that a safe haven was needed for ‘throw away’ pets. These circumstances then proved necessary to set up a Pro Life, not for profit organisation to ensure continuity of service and sanctuary to these animals, where a space has now been created for them to just be.
